Cannabis Infused Edibles-What to Know

Edibles are a great alternative to smoking or vaping cannabis.
You are able to choose your favorite type of edible based on cannabis strain or food choice.
Whether you are new to cannabis, or are a long-term user, edibles are definitely worth a try. Before you give it a go,however, here are a few things you need to know.

Edibles come in all shapes and sizes

Edibles are available in an assortment of food types such as brownies, cookies, candies, and various sweet treats. With the ever-expanding edible choices, you will definitely have a few to try out, as well as additional access to newer recipes.
It is not just the food type that comes in variations. In addition to food, you can order edibles based on potency and cannabis strains.  Cannabis infused edibles are professionally created with Sativa, Hybrid, and Indica strains, providing you with a high-quality product.
One of the things to note is the size of the edibles varies based on the food. For example, a gummy bear will look quite smaller than say, a brownie or cookie. This does not automatically mean you should ingest more gummy bears than cookies.
The potency within these edibles is dense, meaning a little edible goes a long way. Everyone is different, so it will take some time to determine what amount of edible works best for you.

Edibles come with their own rulebook

As mentioned, edibles have a different effect on people. The effect will also differ for you personally in comparison to inhaling or vaping. Do not assume that these will have the same effect.
Why this is different is because after ingesting an edible, it actually goes through your body, rather than straight to only your lungs. There are more steps if you will for your body to process an edible, requiring digesting, absorbing, and metabolizing.
Everyone processes food differently, which means everyone will process edibles differently. It may take over an hour for the cannabis to kick in. Do not grow impatient when you do not feel anything right away. The most dangerous thing you can do, is continue to eat the marijuana
If you do so, you will go from feeling normal to being the paranoid, chaotic person in the room screaming about the tiger behind the couch.
The other thing to look out for is where you store the edibles. Marijuana on its own is rather noticeable, while edibles look just like normal food. Do not let an accident happen in your house where someone accidentally eats your brownie. You will be out an edible, and someone will be
overly relaxed without any warning.
Medical marijuana, of course, works great for back pain, anxiety, or other pain relief. If you need a more discrete product to use for your relief, are tired of smoking, or just curious about alternative options, cannabis infused edibles are just what you need!

This is totally new to me. I know about smoking cannabis, and I have heard about the medicinal oils, but I never realized or even thought of it that it is possible to spike a brownie with marijuana.
I suppose for medicinal purposes this will be a better and healthier option than smoking weed 🙂
Thanks for sharing this very interesting post.

I have never tried weed and edibles have been offered to me quite often. I appreciate you explaining the traps of eating too much, because you may not feel an immediate buzz. The first time novice may never go back, if the paranoia gets the best of them. Overall, do you feel that edible gives you a better/cleaner more potent high than vaping ? Does it matter what type of cookie dough you mix it in with ?

Hey Rico and thanks for the comment.
Edibles for sure will give you a more consistent high than vaping. Vaping is immediate and will provide instant relief but then you get all the smoke and tar. Edibles don’t have that. And depending on what you are consuming, for the most part much cleaner than vaping. Altho I like vaping so won’t knock it too much.
I am not aware of ingredients that shouldn’t be mixed with marijuana so have it!! You’re only limited by your imagination!
Here’s a link to one that’s pretty good:
There are so many recipes to try. Good luck!!

Awesome article. I think is a big future for the cannabis market as a legit healthy alternative to unhealthy prescription drugs. I think the edibles you talk about here would be a lot more palatable than cannabis oil which has amazing benefits especially for those suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Keep spreading the word man.

I have become very curious of late of the use of marijuana and have found myself reading up a great deal about the medicinal purposes and uses of it.
I have never really used it myself but based on what I have read I a can very much support the use of it. I myself suffer from anxiety and have many times considered treating myself as everything just didn’t seem to work.
As for consuming it through edibles, well that’s an avenue I have yet to explore. It does seem to make more sense, doesn’t it?

Hi Jean and thanks for the comment.
It is a healthier way to consume medical marijuana for sure; no smoke, no smell and easy to use-just eat it.
But if you are new, take heed of the warnings as consuming too much will have adverse effects( feeling and paranoid), and that`s not good. Start out slow then increase if needed.
I prefer this way of consuming marijuana much better than smoking it.
