As I sit down to write this, I realize that perhaps I may be taking on a subject that is somewhat edgy to be discussing.
Some may be taken aback from the subject matter and the language contained in this post, while others will be eagerly reading with enthusiasm.
I never thought I would be faced this dilemma, but then came to a realization.
We are all adults here, and sex is a part of life. Some people have great sex lives while others have reservations about it.
Using marijuana for better sex is not a secret, and therefore I feel is a subject that we can discuss openly and with maturity.
It is definitely no secret that many people use enhancements to improve their sex lives.
Whether that be through the use of sexual enhancement drugs, sexual toys or whatever it takes to keep your sex life interesting.
Using marijuana for better sex is really no different than taking a Viagra.
They both can increase the enhancement of your sexual pleasure.
They do work in different ways, so it really depends on what you need to get it on.
MARIJUANA OFFERS A CHANGE
Since some strains of marijuana invigorate and enhance the feeling of euphoria, it only makes sense that it would also work on our pleasure zones.
It does offer the user a more relaxed and pleasurable experience.
For many, the use of marijuana makes us giddy, lightens our mood, decreases our inhibitions and relaxes our minds.
It therefore it only stands to reason that marijuana would have the same effect on our sexual prowess.
Now I’m not saying that using marijuana before sex will make you into a sexual deviant; just the opposite.
It offers a different approach to sex itself, and with an open mind, could offer you too an opportunity to take your lovemaking to a different level.
Since marijuana does have the capacity to lower your inhibitions, it could be the catalyst many need to make their love making more enjoyable and exciting.
MODERATION IS THE KEY
However, as with most things, moderation is the key.
Marijuana can have it drawbacks when it comes to sex.
We want the addition of marijuana to our love lives to be a positive experience, so here a few words of caution.
Don’t smoke too much: As you might have imagined, sometimes the more stoned you get, the less functional you become. And yes, that means during sex as well.
Safety first: Just like alcohol, cannabis can lower your inhibition and cause users to engage in high-risk behaviour, albeit not as risky as with other substances. Make sure to be safe and prepared by using some form of protection against pregnancy and STD’s.
Do a trial run: Try out the strain pre-sex to ensure you picked the right one. It’s good to at least have a general idea of how you’ll react to a new strain or method of consumption. It’s not very sexy to feel paranoid, dizzy, or couch-locked.
Dryness: Ladies, cannabis can sometimes cause dryness of the mucous membranes, and that includes your vagina. And if you have cotton mouth, you can’t spit on it either. So make sure to keep some lube and/or a water bottle nearby. Your partner (and your lady parts) will thank you
Effects on Sexuality
For many people, part of the appeal of marijuana is its rumored aphrodisiac-like qualities.
THC can elevate mood and arousal, as well as stimulate sexual activity.
While this may be the case for many cannabis users, not all people who use this drug have such a positive reaction.
Despite the fact that this substance has the ability to enhance mood and reduce inhibitions, much in the way that alcohol does, it may also have some undesired effects on a person’s libido.
While some users feel that it greatly increases their sexual desire, others experience the opposite effect. Many report having a substantially decreased sexual drive when “stoned” or “high.”
Further, it can be difficult to arouse people under the influence.
Many marijuana users find that they fall somewhere in between these two extremes; that is, they are sometimes aroused and other times disappointed with marijuana’s sexual side effects.
Effect on Sex
Users and their partners also experience a variety of reactions to using marijuana during intercourse.
Some claim that it fosters a greater bond between partners, stating that marijuana facilitates a more beautiful, open connection.
However, some partners find that under the influence of cannabis they tend to lose focus or internalize their thoughts; as a result, they tend to emotionally distance their partners instead of bring them closer.
One reason that some people may report a heightened sense of sexuality is that marijuana often distorts users’ sense of time, thus creating the illusion of prolonged arousal and orgasm.
Furthermore, some studies suggest that there is an association of marijuana use with increased rates of high risk sexual behavior and sexually transmitted infections.
This is due to marijuana’s ability to decrease inhibitions and make users less likely to use protection during intercourse.
When using marijuana, consent for sexual activity may become unclear.
Consent is seen a clear and enthusiastic “yes” and is especially important when drugs/intoxication are involved.
It is advised to take precaution and use protection, such as a condom, when engaging in any sexual activity and establish a clear and comfortable form of communication when using marijuana or any drug.
Effect on Relationships
As mentioned above, marijuana has the ability to bring people closer together or farther apart, both physically and emotionally.
The use of marijuana should be discussed openly and honestly between partners.
Communication is essential for the health of every relationship.
If one is concerned that their partner is experiencing negative effects from marijuana, it is best that they communicate their concerns in a considerate manner.
Each partner should come to a common understanding about the role that marijuana plays in their relationship and how it affects each partner in the relationship.
Super Silver Haze, bred by Green House Seeds, was the first prize winner at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1997, 1998, and 1999. It also won awards at the High Times Harvest Festival.
By crossing the genetics of Skunk, Northern Lights, and Haze, we are left with a beautiful, sticky sativa blend that boasts an energetic, long-lasting body high.
The uplifting effects are a great remedy for high stress levels or when suffering from a lack of appetite or nausea.
Flavours: Sweet, Earthy, Citrus
Effects: Happy, Uplifted, Euphoric, Energetic, Relaxed
Medical Uses: Stress, Depression, Pain, Fatigue, Headaches
Sour Diesel has round, medium-sized buds with leaves that appear yellowish-green. Red hairs called pistils, structures that operate to catch pollen from male plants, contrast with the densely-packed leaves.
When properly cured, the flowers are somewhat sticky — the dusting of trichomes is not as immediately obvious as it is on more resinous strains like White Widow.
Nevertheless, breaking open buds reveals trichomes coating the insides of the dense flowers.
The buds have an overpowering smell that, true to this strain’s name, is very similar to gasoline.
The odor also has some hints of orange.
Breaking open or grinding the buds intensifies this scent, and adds components of musk and pine sap.
Sour Diesel has a notoriously harsh, acrid smoke that can cause users to cough or make their sinuses water.
The smoke has a sour and vaguely skunky taste that may describe as unpleasant; on the exhale, the diesel and almost ammonia-like tang stings the palate and may linger for a long time afterward.
Smokers trying to remain discreet should be warned that this is a very pungent strain whose odor can carry for quite a distance.
Flavours: Citrus, Lemon, Earthy
Effects: Happy, Euphoric, Uplifted, Energetic, Creative
Medical: Depression, Stress, Fatigue, Pain, Headaches
The Blueberry Cheesecake strain is a rather popular cross of Big Buddha Cheese and the eminent Blueberry. It’s a sativa-dominant hybrid with a sativa/indica ratio of at least 70:30.
Not surprisingly, then, this strain produces mostly mental effects that are calming but euphoric, happy and creative.
Its best medical uses include treatment of low mood, lack of appetite, chronic pain, insomnia, and ordinary stress.
THC levels can be remarkably high in this strain, topping 23% in some tests.
That puts it within reach of the strongest medical and recreational choices on the market.
Strains with potent THC content tend to have low CBD numbers, and Blueberry Cheesecake is no exception.
That means patients with epileptic conditions or other health problems that may respond to CBD treatment shouldn’t rely on this strain to provide it.
The Blueberry and Cheese genetics generate a taste and smell with strong notes of berries and cheese.
The most likely side effects from using Blueberry Cheese include dry mouth and dry eyes, as well as paranoia, headaches, and dizziness.
This strain sells best in the Pacific Northwest but can also be found in the medical marijuana markets of Massachusetts and Montana.
Flavours: Sweet, Blueberry, Berry
Effects: Relaxed, Uplifted, Euphoric, Happy, Energetic
Medical Uses: Pain, Insomnia, Stress, Lack of Appetite, Nausea
The Blue Hawaiian strain is known for being quite a looker; its light green to orange buds are covered in rich orange and red hairs and are coated with sparkly trichomes throughout.
Bred from Blueberry and Hawaiian Sativa, it’s fruity and smooth.
Flowers appear at about ten weeks and are described as giving a balanced high that has equal parts of its relaxing indica and uplifting sativa effects.
Perfect for patients looking to alleviate symptoms of stress, pain, insomnia, and depression.
Flavours: Sweet, Blueberry, Tropical
Effects: Relaxed, Sleepy, Happy, Euphoric, Hungry
Medical Uses: Stress, Pain, Insomnia, Depression, Muscle Spasms

The use of marijuana and its effects on the mind, body, sex, relationships, and health are unique to every individual.
While some claim that marijuana has a positive effect on their lives, others feel as though it affects their lives negatively.
It is recommended that you discuss marijuana use with your doctor before experimenting with it.
